We recognize that everyone has their own needs as they relate to personal care and services. Our clinical staff meets with all new residents – and then periodically thereafter and as needed – to develop a plan tailored to their needs and desires. As your needs change, your care changes. Residents are provided with three and a half hours of personal care per week, which is scheduled to best meet individual requirements. Our caring and dedicated personal care workers are available twenty-four hours a day to assist with such tasks as bathing, dressing and so much more.

A licensed nurse is scheduled seven days a week during business hours. Residents who would like to speak with our nurse are encouraged to do so. If you are unable to leave your apartment because you are not feeling well, our nurse will come to see you. Our trained staff responds when emergencies occur after business hours. Residents who are able to self-administer their medications may do so provided they have their physicians’ authorization. Residents who are not capable of administering their own medication must enroll in our Medication Assistance Program, which requires an additional monthly fee.

All residents must have a primary care physician and proof of insurance. Residents who are happy with their primary care physicians are encouraged to keep them. However, a geriatric physician is available one day each week to see residents by appointment. In addition, other medical professionals visit on a regular basis and are available to meet with residents, including a podiatrist and mental health practitioners.

We greatly value our partnership with Fox Rehabilitation Services, a private practice of full-time physical, occupational and speech therapists who provide their services in our building. Whether working with residents in The Fox Rehabilitation Wellness Center, which is located on our fifth floor, or in their apartments, Fox Rehabilitation Services recruits the finest clinicians and provides them with the autonomy they need to rehabilitate people’s lives. Fox Rehabilitation Services bills our residents directly and uses Medicare Part B as its billing foundation.

Nu Care Pharmacy, conveniently located at 1789 1st Avenue, at the corner of East 93rd Street, is our preferred pharmacy. In addition to medications, they offer a large inventory of surgical supplies and personal care products. They offer our residents discounts and prompt free delivery.
