Becoming a Resident

Every family eventually faces the difficult decision of what to do when a loved one is no longer able to live alone because they need personal care and attention that no one is in a position to provide. Carnegie East House welcomes all older adults who are age 62 and over and need assistance with the tasks of daily living. If you are interested in joining our vibrant community that celebrates the experience of aging, our four step admissions process is as follows:

Step 1: Contact Roberta Mikhael, our Marketing Director: The first step in becoming a resident is speaking with Roberta Mikhael, our Marketing Director. She can answer your questions about Carnegie East House and schedule a tour of our beautiful residence. Her telephone number is 646-438-8009 .

Step 2: Tour Carnegie East House: We invite and encourage everyone who is interested in living at Carnegie East House and their families and caregivers to tour our residence. It’s important that our new residents feel comfortable about making their important transition to our residence and a tour is a wonderful way for them to know that they’re making the right living decision. Trial stays and respite care stays in our residence are available for up to three months.

Step 3: Complete our Residency Application (required): This initial application gives us more information and starts the process of becoming our newest resident.

Step 4: Sign Your Lease and Move-In: Once we have reviewed and approved your admissions documentation, you’re ready to sign your lease and make Carnegie East House your new home.
